Spiritualism is the amorous union of Allah’s sayings and the life of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). This ardent love (Ishq) is the extreme pinnacle and also the base of Sufism. The precept and practice of a Sufi always wanders in the horizons of his spiritual Master’s (Sheikh) consent, Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad’s (PBUH) love and Allah’s pleasure. The history of Sufism eulogizes all those great personalities who devoted their lives for the eminence of Islam – the religion of nature and leading the humanity by establishing different chains of Sufism (spiritualism/tasawwuf). The magnificence, elevation and glory of each chain is different. The exalted “Owaisia Chain” is one of them.
The founder of Owaisia Kamalia chain, Hazrat Faqir Bagh Hussain Kamal (R.A), known as Hazrat Jee (R.A) was born in Pinwal, District Chakwal on March 22, 1937. His real name was Bagh Hussain and he chose ‘Kamal’ as poetic name for his literary journey that becomes more meaningful and melodious when joined with the name of such an accomplished Sufi. He passed his matriculation in 1955 from Government High School Chakwal, intermediate in 1957 from Government College Chakwal, whereas he completed his B.A in 1963, M.A. Urdu in 1966, B.Ed. in 1967 and M.A Punjabi in 1974 from Punjab University as a private candidate. His magnificent qualification record is an evident proof of his interest in education and knowledge.
Hazrat Faqir Tabish Kamal is one of the most prominent and noteworthy poets among his contemporaries in last decade of previous century. He brought forward the healthy tradition of poetry while harmonizing and synchronizing with modern empiricism, particularly poems in Urdu and Kafi in Punjabi. His Urdu poems encompass almost every topic. In this art, his special attribute, which is the fate of a few poets, is the melodiousness. Amazingly, Hazrat Faqir Tabish Kamal has maintained his individuality while creatively learning from each grand poet ranging Baba Farid (R.A) to Khawaja Farid (R.A). His poetry encloses the literary impassionate style along with modern intellect.
